The episode kicks off with editor-at-large Angus MacKenzie asking Gilles about the controversy surrounding our comparison test between a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and a pre-production 2013 SRT Viper GTS. Gilles explains the internal reaction to the Viper losing the comparison test, and what the automaker did to improve the Viper.
We then delve into a discussion on how fast SRT put together the new Viper TA. The car, which would go on to set the fastest production car lap at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, was fast tracked because of our comparison test.
This week’s episode ends with Gilles talking about his hits and misses at the New York auto show, and the Dodge Challenger SRT8's answer to “Steve,” the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Catch the latest episode of Wide Open Throttle (our best episode yet) below.
